LA Galaxy and DraftKings Enter in to a New Partnership

North American Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise, Los Angeles Galaxy and StarHub Centre announced a partnership with Daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator, DraftKings. This new partnership was brokered by AEG Global Partnerships.

DraftKings will enjoy benefits from branding placements, starting immediately; their assets will be made highly visible at the StarHub Centre and all over the official digital properties of the StarHub Centre and LA Galaxy; this will include a field level signposts and advertisements on their sites – Starhubcentre.Com and Lagalaxy.Com, as well as all the social media platforms.

DraftKings VIPs

StubHub Centre will also feature a separate, designated entrance labelled the “DraftKings Entrance”, which will award prizes and make picks before each LA Galaxy game. Additionally, an assigned area will be created for DraftKings within the concourse at StubHub Centre; this will give fans the chance to play certain MLS contests at the venue.

In addition to branding and in-stadium promotions, DraftKings will also become the newest Founding Partner of StubHub Centre and be able to work with the team to offer VIP experiences to fans attending StubHub Center-hosted boxing events.

On top of these components, DraftKings and the LA Galaxy will partner to offer fans once-in-a-lifetime, VIP experiences and cash prizes through exclusive contests.

DraftKings is currently the second largest DFS operator globally. Players start a game by choosing members for a virtual team, whose performance in influenced by that of the actual athletes the games are based on. The teams are then entered into paid or free tournaments and players can win cash prizes and experiences depending on the outcome of their teams. DraftKings have also added a unique feature to their second screen experience with ‘Starting Line-up Indicators’ which shows whether a player has been selected to start a specific match; this can be crucial information when picking members for a virtual squad.
