The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) has announced that operators in the garden state were able to break their month old records, set only in the month of January 2016, to achieve even more success and ever larger revenues in online gaming in the month February this year, 2016.
Revenues for the month were recorded at USD 14.7 million; this was a 41.8 per cent year-over-year rise on the USD 10.4 million they generated in February last year; on top of that, a small increase was made on the previous monthly record of USD 14.6 million achieved in January this year.
Borgata still the main driver
It comes as no surprise that Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa, the largest casino hotel in Atlantic City and their online casino, the market leader in its sector are still leading the state’s online gaming market; they were responsible for generating USD 4.2 million of the total figure reported from last month. Borgata were also the highest earner for online gaming in January 2016.
Golden Nugget with a strong performance
Golden Nugget Atlantic City, owned by Langtry Incorporated and their online casino venture have managed to attain the most significant individual growth this time; with total accrued revenues of USD 3.1 million, they showed a year-on-year growth of 113 per cent. They also managed an impressive month-on-month increase in revenue from the USD 2.5 million they earned in January of this same year.
Total gaming win in New Jersey in the month of February, 2016, was USD 204.7 million, a 14.7 per cent rise compared to the USD 178.4 million, which was posted in February 2014. This still proves a significant improvement on the USD 190.1 million achieved earlier, in January this year.
For the year-to-date to the end of February, online gaming revenue stands at USD 29.4 million, which is 33.7 per cent higher than last year, with total gaming win also up by 5 per cent to USD 394.8 million.
After the little slump in February of 2015, New Jersey has been going from strength to strength each and every month since, breaking and setting new records for the iGaming industry every month; with the much anticipated return of PokerStars and FullTilt poker to the USA, planned to take place at Resorts Casino Hotel, NJ, on March 21, 2016, we can only expect to see another impressive month for online gaming for the state of New Jersey.
